Offering another topical spin on the 2016 Topps Garbage Pail Kids American as Apple Pie in Your Face release, Topps GPK features their take on the 31st annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony with 2016 Topps Garbage Pail Kids Rock & Roll Hall of Lame cards.
Totaling 20 cards that deal directly with the inductees or performers, 2016 Topps Garbage Pail Kids Rock & Roll Hall of Lame is part of an online-exclusive release on the Topps website. Each of the ten main subjects have two different cards. While they both feature the same image, there are two different humorous names assigned.
In addition to 2016 inductees Cheap Trick, Steve Miller Band, N.W.A., Chicago and Deep Purple, collectors can also obtain cards for the performers like Kid Rock, Kendrick Lamar and the Black Keys. The rap group N.W.A. is covered with individual cards for Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E.
Unlike the earlier GPK releases that were limited to just 24 hours, the release will be available through Topps from now until the show airs on HBO on April 30, 2016. The actual taping takes place on April 8 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Prices in the Topps Online Store follow earlier sets with two-card subjects selling for $9.99 and the complete 20-card set going for $49.99. The online exclusive will be printed to order and final print runs will be revealed once the selling window has ended
