While the Grammy Awards recognize the yearly standouts in music, 2016 Topps Garbage Pail Kids Shammys put the GPK spin on the biggest entertainers in the world with an exclusive set of Grammy-themed sticker cards. Humorous versions of Kanye West, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga are included in the star-studded checklist.
Poking fun at each musician, several of the cards cover specific events. This is true of the card for Kanye West as it references his controversial moments with Taylor Swift and Beck.
Similar to the 2016 GPK Presidential Candidates release, the online-exclusive Grammys spoof set featured two-card groups for each subject and a limited purchase window of 24 hours. Only cards ordered during that time were printed and the overall run is less than 200 copies for all cards. Individual subjects were originally available in two-card sets for $9.99 and a complete set of nine subjects and 18 total cards went for $49.99.
The Shammys cards were first available on the Topps Online Store and sales ended at approximately 5 PM EST on February 16.
