Dubbed the "New Series," 1983 Topps Star Wars Return of the Jedi Series 2 is an important set in that it was the final release for the original trilogy.

While the first film reached five sets and The Empire Strikes Back had three, interest in Return of the Jedi waned after the second card product.

1983 Topps Star Wars Return of the Jedi Series 2 Set Details

Dropping from 132 cards down to 88, the base set shares the same design as Series 1, except the borders are blue instead of red. Photos on the front highlight the film's action, characters, strange aliens, and spaceships.

Rather than doing another set of plot recaps like in the first series, card backs are filled with trivia to accompany the character drawing.

Every pack of 1983 Topps Star Wars Return of the Jedi Series 2 comes with a sticker. Like the base set, the checklist for these is smaller, as well. While the first set had 33 stickers (66 if you count color variations), this set has just 22. These stickers have a more traditional design that is almost identical to the ones made for the first film. Issued in two designs, the first features characters surrounded by a thick red/orange border.

The other stickers take clips from the film and border them with an orange film-like border. Both designs have a plain white background and the backs double as puzzle pieces.
