Overview
Georges Vezina hockey cards are some of the most highly sought after of the pre-war era. The only goalie the Montreal Canadiens played from 1910-25, his career spanned 16 seasons. Vezina led them to the Stanley Cup two-times during his tenure. Vezina is the namesake of the NHL's annual award for the top goalie.
Vezina has one rookie card. It is found in the 1911-12 C55 set, which was made by the Imperial Tobacco Company.
Additional cards of Vezina that are popular with collectors include his 1912-13 C57 Imperial Tobacco and 1955-56 Parkhurst cards.
Vezina's inclusion in modern trading card products has been well received through the years. Some of these cards command a significant premium.
In 2000-01, Be A Player would produce the first game-used memorabilia cards of the legendary goalie. The company would later go on to produce one-of-one Cut Signature cards of Vezina as well. One of the first was in 2003-04 Be A Player Ultimate Memorabilia 4th Edition.
Georges Vezina's autographed memorabilia is so rare that it is nearly non-existent. When items do come on the auction block, they are typically signed documents.

Key Georges Vezina Cards
1911-12 C55 Georges Vezina RC #38
The C55 Hockey Set by Imperial Tobacco is one of the most revered pre-war hockey card sets in the pre-war era. Vezina is one of 45 cards in the set and is considered the key rookie card.
1912-13 C57 Georges Vezina #1
A follow up to Imperial Tobacco's previous release, the C57 set consists of 50 cards. Vezina's card can be very difficult to find in high-grade condition.
1955-56 Parkhurst Georges Vezina #56
The Parkhurst hockey sets of the 1950s are highly collectible. Despite being issued long after his playing days, it only seemed appropriate that one of the greatest goalies of all-time be paid homage within the set.
2000-01 Be A Player Memorabilia Georges Vezina #V-16
This is the first memorabilia card of Vezina. It feature a piece of his blocker padding. Upon its release, hockey collectors had mixed reactions. Some were happy to have the opportunity to own a piece of treasured history. Others thought it a sacrilege to cut up a museum quality artifact worthy of the Hall of Fame.

Thanks as always for the post.
The C57 is tough in ANY condition – under 40 copies have been graded by PSA. I would also argue that Vezina’s “investment value” is as high as any other hockey player’s in history (up there with Gretzky and Orr). He is an icon not just because he was hockey’s first superstar, but also because of the tragic manner in which he died.
