Product Details
Expanding the coverage from Series 1, 2017 Topps Star Wars Rogue One Series 2 continues to document the standalone Star Wars film in considerable detail. Hobby boxes yield two total hits.
Adding 100 base cards that focus specifically on the storyline from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, collectors can expect more meaty details in the third set for the movie. Among the limited parallels are Death Star Black (1 per pack), Green Squadron (1:2 packs), Blue Squadron (1:4 packs), Gray Squadron (#/100), Gold Squadron (#/50), Red Squadron (1/1) and one-of-one Printing Plates.
Although the full list of signers will not be announced until much closer to the release date, 2017 Topps Star Wars Rogue One Series 2 is headlined by various Rogue One cast Autographs. Dual and Triple Autographs are exclusive to Hobby boxes. Other premium hits include Patch cards, patch parallels like Silver (#/100), Gold (#/50) and Red (#/10), and hand-drawn Sketch cards.
Beyond the base and hits, 2017 Topps Star Wars Rogue One Series 2 also features a total of seven inserts. This includes familiar choices like Heroes of the Rebel Alliance and Villains of the Galactic Empire along with Character Stickers. Other options come in Prime Forces, Rebel Squadrons and Troopers. Lastly, Darth Vader Continuity, a continuation insert found in both Mission Briefing and Series 1, is completed in Series 2 with the final five cards (#11-15).
Release Date: 4/5/2017
Product Configuration: 8 cards per pack, 24 packs per box, 12 boxes per case

Product Review
2017 Topps Star Wars Rogue One Series 2 Product Review
Reviewed by Trey Treutel
Good: Plenty of insert variety, signers list has big names, very impressive dual and triple autograph pairings.
Bad: Box prices have greatly increased making value tougher to achieve, signers list is a bit more watered down.
The Bottom Line: The second installment for Rogue One does a solid job building on the orignal set. The many inserts appeal to the collector in me while the shot at top actor autograph scratches that hit itch. The main problem is that hobby box prices shot up and that alters the equation a tad.
Card Design: 4.25/5.0
Letting the full-bleed movie images have most of the horizontal layout, the bottom frame on the base design is not subtle but also doesn’t dominate focus. I like it. On the other hand, the parallels were far too common and did not add much for me, especially the unnumbered Black Squadron.
Because the movie images were used throughout the base set, I liked the various inserts that played with backgrounds and effects. I particularly enjoyed the Troopers insert with all its variety as well as Prime Forces and the ongoing Darth Vader Continuity.
Although the Autograph set went a little wild with the busy background, I thought it worked well and helped better distinguish it from the Series 1 autograph design. If you liked the multi-color, grid-like look, the stickers offer the same design.
Of course, the Villains and Heroes inserts won’t go away and it’s hard to get excited about a manufactured patch, especially as a hit.
Checklist: 4.0/5.0
As the second set for the movie, Series 2 was given more leeway to include the plot, and that helped the overall strength of the base set checklist.
While the signers list only has 15 subjects, two actors (Aidan Cook and Paul Kasey) signed for two of their characters which means nearly one-third of the autographs come from the same two people.
In addition to the return of Donnie Yen (Chirrut), Forest Whitaker (Saw), and Felicity Jones (Jyn), the new addition of note is Riz Ahmed as Bodhi Rook. Despite doubling the options from Series 1, the overall list is still pretty strong.
Value: 3.5/5.0
Because box prices are around $130-140 at the time of this review, that does shift the overall value somewhat. Based on the odds, it seems pretty likely that most hobby boxes will deliver a sketch card as one of the hits. These generally offer solid value on their own, which helps. The deciding factor is the second hit. While the autographs provide several great options, there are several low-value names as well, and the manufactured patches are a weak link. This can be the downside to playing the waiting game as some products do increase in price and then supply decreases.
The Fun Factor: 4.25/5.0
Since I did not open any Series 1, 2017 Topps Star Wars Rogue One Series 2 was even more fun because it was fresh to my eyes. I will also say that hitting a Chirrut autograph and a nice sketch as my hits greatly improved the box-opening experience. However, the collector in me also appreciated the non-hit aspects of the set.

Randall
Great SW product in regards to pics and collation, but the price gauging is insane on this one.
MSRP – 80-100
eBay – average = X?
dealernetb2b = Y?
actual sales = Z!
Product sits unopened and over priced, sitting on shelves or amazon with incorrect metadata (A&S Sports is a prime example with their 2017 Topps Series 1 Baseball being listed with bad data backing it up – seller uses auto-tool to list on amazon which creates the errors from observations).
Something has to change.
