2014 Topps Prime Football Cards

I bought a 2014 Topps Prime James White 126, Auto.

My question is: In 2013 The NFL started the One shell rule. Teams are not allowed to use uniforms with different helmets. The helmet shown in his rookie card is a Throwback Pats one, it would have been impossible for him to wear this considering the rules. Any explanation? I’m really lost on this one.

Hello I recently bought a Rob Gronkowski from the 2014 Topps Prime set. I was just wondering if anyone could help me understand why it says Rookie card ( RC) on the front of it when his rookie year was 2010. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have always found Prime to be one of the more fun mid-end box breaks out there. I broke two boxes from ebay from different sellers over the past month. Received: Prime Relic V of Jeremy Hill and Odell Beckham Jr (redemption). Auto of Jordan Cameron (redemption) and Eric Ebron. Quad Relic of Carlos Hyde and Cody Latimer. Patches of Jarvis Landry and Andre Williams. The fun part is for 3 of the 4 hits, there are countless possibilities of what the card could be. Your Patch auto could be a book or a Prime Level 5. These look great and even if you pull the level 5, you could get a sweet looking parallel. Your auto could be of one of the top 50 rookies or a veteran auto variation. The veteran list is pretty impressive and veterans can be found on the auto patch as well. The relic could be a quad, dual, combo, quad combo with relics or sweet patches depending on the type of parallel. The patch isn’t that impressive with a small window. The only thing to look forward to is how much color will be on patch. When you have no idea what you could get with your hits, it makes for a fun break. I can’t remember the last time I looked forward to seeing what my relic would be as usually I gloss over those in other brands. I love the small number of rookies in the signature class. With this year’s class, I wouldn’t have minded receiving half of the checklist on the Prime 5 relic. Topps does this very well and something I will miss if their license is indeed lost since Panini is dead set on creating checklists of rookies sigs that missed rosters or will be out of the league in 2 years. I’d rather receive a less valuable Odell, Bridgewater, or Watkins, than having to compete with 50 other non-valuable rookies in a Panini set albeit slightly more valuable. The drawback of Prime is the redemptions, but as a PC, I can live with waiting patiently for my Odell Beckham….

Just opened a hobby box. Got a Odell Beckham jr dual relic with some other Giant player #d/142. Also got a level V Johnny Manziel Auto Relic Copper Rainbow #d 15/15. Got a Odell Beckham Jr base RC too. Overall im happy with product and price $60 a hobby box @ my local shop.

God awful i bought 2 boxes and pulled 12$ worth of cards between both pulled 4 Charles sims a tiny patch a quad patch a base auto and a quad auto can’t move anything of his this product is a huge let down

Overall ok product…but there appears to be 2 blue parallel cards.
A light blue and a lighter blue in the
retail rack packs..very hard to see
the lighter blue cards.

Beautiful photos, but all too often this product reflects leaf rookie and stars.
These thicker cards are fun to see a nice high gloss photo but unfortunately really have no grade potential
fun set to build, but not much value offered in the diff color foil cards, reminds me a lot like longevity inserts

Meh. Seriously, just meh. Rack packs and hobby boxes, banged up corners (purchased from different stores). Far too many redemptions. Just, meh.

Love the photos and the thicker stock of retail this year. Just pulled a Bradin Cooks gold dual relic /75 from a blaster!! Also love the Mint parallels Thumbs Up this year.

I feel like the product is incomplete based on the fact that it has too many redemption’s. 2 boxes and a total of 3 redemption’s. I have to send in a redemption for a Michael Sam Auto Relic card…. extremely disappointed!

2 stars because it’s a thicker stock of card.
Why is it Prime and Strata are a flipping joke in retail (blasters or rack packs)?
Why do I waste my $$ on it?
I’ve never once pulled a hit in the last 3 years and I buy a crap ton from Walmart cause I have no other options.

I have always bought this product but usually only one or two boxes a year. 4 Hits in a box and looks like you are guaranteed to get a redemption right now and a drastic lack of numbered cards and parallels.

Over all i would stay away and keep buying prestige or rookies and stars.

Spent 2.99 at target and got a Watkins book auto. I don’t even know how to react to that. /15

Why is there some cards with gold lettering and thicker card stock and not numbered are they some sort of paralell or does anyone know why they are different? Also love the cards, nice simple design great photos overall great value too.

What a great update from the years past. As always, I so enjoy the full bleed action portraits of my favorite veterans and rookies. It reminds me of the old school Topps Stadium Clubs. Great collation, no doubles. At least not until I realized I had two #35’s, oh my, these were parallels of Dez Bryant. How great is that! 16 rookie cards, 6 inserts, a quad jersey of A.J. McCarron, two Platinum “Blue” Parallels, and a foil enhanced box topper. All this from a “BLASTER BOX” from Walmart!!!

Yes, this is not a misprint, it was from one blaster box. I actually purchased two blasters and I saved the second blaster for Mrs. Toshi to break open. Please note: I’m so excited about this set, I’ll be heading to Target to get blaster box #3. They just might have a Target exclusive hit. If there’s a bunch of rack packs or singles over at Target, I’ll pick up a few of those as well.

Why am I so overly optimistic and positive about 2014 Topps Prime? For the first time ever, all cards and as well as base cards are of the thick card stock that the hobby box edition carries. In the past, the retail version had been printed on thin card stock and a true hobbiest could feel and see the difference in quality of the retail versus hobby products.

Why am I touting the retail blaster so much? For those collectors on a budget as well as those collectors whom just want to sample a new product, this years Prime surely is worth the time and money. Most importantly, it’s the young, up and coming collectors that get to see and hold such a viable product that could just keep these young individuals in this great hobby experience.

Isn’t that what collecting is about? To share the knowledge with the next generation and to keep the fire burning for more cardboard.

Bought a hobby box. Decent Davonte Adams #15 and a teddy bridgewater/ cordarrelle Patterson #25 with a few patches. I liked it pretty well. Base cards are bring but I knew what to expect . I’m pretty sure that if you were to pull a player from your PC out of this product you’d like it

I like this years product especially with the multi colored patches. But there’s still to many redemptions in this product too. I pulled a Auto Relic Prime V of Julio Jones and I can’t find this card in any checklist. Any idea if Julio is really going to sign for them?

Just ripped a hobby box. This product is an absolute joke. Only 2 numbered cards in the whole box and neither had an auto. Further proving Topps’ great colation I pulled a Donte Moncreif quad relic /140 and a redemption for his “Prime V” relic which I’m sure will contain nothing of the “Prime” sort. The Allen Robinson auto I pulled was not numbered, and the Paul Richardson “Patch or Prime Relic” is one-color and the jersey window is roughly the size of the fingernail on my pinkey finger. It’s a wonder Topps will no longer be producing football in 2016…

Absolute GARBAGE product…save your $$

Not impressed with this product. Like Tb, i bought a few of the jumbo packs, and didnt get the parallels. Just looked, and i did. It is very faint, but the silver lines on the bottom are blue. you have to hold them on a angle together.
shame, could have been a great product

Question, why is there no Baltimore players in any Topps products.
Cj Mosely, Taliferro, and a few others should be included but they are in no products. Why I will only purchase panini.

good stuff for the money. with a good rookie class the hits are pretty solid

I got a jumbo topps prime pack with 19 cards 16 plus 3 parallel cards and got no parallels, really disapointed in topps all cards looked the same

The fact that they put a retail version out again of this junk just tells you how clueless they are.

College Uni’s No thanks.

Just an observation, but Topps placing Josh Gordon in the product’s teaser gallery is yet another example of how little attention the company pays to the “little things,” like revamping long out-dated card designs… and players on year-long suspensions.
Just another poor decision in a running string of them.
