2013 Topps Series 2 Baseball Retail Patch Cards Guide
Commemorative Patch Cards
A lot of times, retail packs don't offer the same bang that their hobby counterparts do. It's by design. Often, longer odds and pack searcher shenanigans can leave the shelves of Walmart and Target with lots of packs that are largely commons and basic inserts. Of course, there are exceptions. Plenty of people have made some amazing pulls from retail packs -- they're just a lot tougher to come by. Once again, 2013 Topps Series 2 blaster boxes offer a little extra to help combat that empty feeling that happens when you don't pull something that gives a feeling of value. The retail-only 2013 Topps Series 2 Commemorative Patch and Manufactured Patch cards don't deviate far from what's been done before. They may not be worth big bucks, but they often sell for more than a plain jersey card.

These inserts are exclusive to 2013 Topps Series 2 blaster boxes that have ten retail packs inside. They cannot be found anywhere else.
Like the similar patch cards found in 2013 Topps Series 1, the cards come with two designs. Commemorative Patch cards feature a horizontal design with some sort of logo or commemorative patch. There's not a lot of consistency between the patches themselves. They vary from World Series logos to stadium notations to basic team logos. Miguel Cabrera has a Triple Crown patch. The checklist continues from where Series 1 left off, numbered 26 through 50.
Manufactured Patch cards are a lot like the retail Rookie Card Patch cards found in Series 1. However, most of the cards that are being recreated as patches aren't rookies, hence the change in set name. This also allows the checklist to repeat some of the biggest names in the set like Willie Mays, Ted Williams and Sandy Koufax.
2013 Topps Series 2 Commemorative Patch and Manufactured Patch cards combine to fall one per blaster box. You don't know what type you're getting until you open the box.
