2013 Topps Series 1 Baseball Commemorative Patch and Rookie Patch Guide
Retail-exclusive manufactured patch cards have been a regular feature in Topps products for years. 2013 Topps Series 1 Baseball sticks with the format of having one patch card in every blaster box, but there's a bit of a twist.
Usually for flagship baseball releases, these manufactured patch inserts make up one insert set of about 50 cards. 2013 Topps Series 1 has two different retail patch sets. Each are 25 cards. So there's still about the same number of total cards, but the configuration is different.

The first set is Manufactured Commemorative Patches. It's fairly straightforward with the patches consisting of team logos and special events. For example, Chipper Jones has a patch honoring his retirement. Nolan Ryan has a patch celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Houston Astros.
The second set of 2013 Topps Series 1 retail patch cards takes classic rookie cards and gives them a different spin. Manufactured Rookie Patches has framed fabric reproductions of 25 classic Topps rookies. Well, 24 plus the 1952 Topps Willie Mays. And I guess Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden had Topps Traded cards too. These cards resemble the Silk Collection parallels that have been included in the Topps base set, amongst others, since 2008.
Retail patch cards come in a foil pack inserted in 2013 Topps Series 1 retail blaster boxes. Blaster boxes also come with ten 2013 Topps Series 1 retail packs.
