2012-13 Panini Immaculate Collection Basketball Scorchers
To close out their 2012-13 basketball card season, Panini has upped the ante as far as their ultra high-end offerings. 2012-13 Panini National Treasures was met with the usual fanfare. They followed that up with 2012-13 Panini Flawless and it's record-setting suggested retail price (that seems like a bargain with boxes now pushing $2,000. While not the same price tag as Flawless, 2012-13 Panini Immaculate Basketball is drawing a lot of comparisons thanks to its deep list of unique memorabilia cards, strong checklist and limited availability.
While Immaculate has a lot of autographs, including a rookie autographed patch in every single-pack box, the focus is on memorabilia. Much like Panini Prime in hockey, there is a huge amount of cards in Immaculate that bring massive swatches. They're so big, you can tell on a lot of them the exact part of the jersey they came from. For veterans like Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant, it means huge interest -- even those that aren't signed.
And then there are the rookies. Kyrie Irving is going to be Kyrie Irving and drum up huge prices. Damian Lillard is also present, complete with a handful of signatures. Perhaps the biggest bump is from Anthony Davis. After a solid rookie season, he's putting up huge numbers for the Pelicans to start the 2013-14 season. With its late release, Immaculate delivers the young star's final rookie cards as well as some of his best memorabilia cards to date.
