The Denver Broncos got their start as a charter member of the AFL in 1960. It took nearly two decades for the team to make their first playoff appearance in 1977. They have gone on to claim the AFC West 13 times since their breakthrough and have made 20 playoff appearances. Led by John Elway, the team won their first Super Bowl title in 1997 and followed that up with another in 1998.
