Traditionally, people don't like have targets on them. But when you're one of Peyton Manning's go-to guys, it's not so bad. With the Denver Broncos looking to do big things, Demaryius Thomas cards could be headed in a similar direction.
Denver took Thomas with the 22nd pick in the 2010 draft. It took him a couple of years to find his groove (a couple of injuries didn't help), but Thomas had a breakout year in 2012. The wide receiver had 94 receptions that were good for 1,434 yards and ten touchdowns. 2013 got off to a bang with Manning connecting with Thomas for multiple touchdowns to kick off the season against the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Baltimore Ravens.
Collectors have more than 30 different Demaryius Thomas rookie cards to choose from ranging in price from a dollar or two all the way into the hundreds. About half of them come with autographs, making them a more expensive. It's also worth noting that Thomas has several 2010 cards from non-NFL licensed sets. In particular, his cards in the college-themed 2010 Upper Deck Exquisite and 2010 SPx sell extremely well on the secondary market.
As a wide receiver, it's going to take a little more time to make him a hobby superstar, especially compared to quarterbacks and running backs. But with Denver looking very good and one of the greatest quarterbacks ever passing to him, there's a good chance Demaryius Thomas cards will see some solid growth in the next while.
