The Chicago Bears are one of the oldest teams in the NFL and are the all-time winningest franchise in league history. Although they only have one Super Bowl title, "Da Bears" still enjoy one of the most devoted fan bases in the league and their collecting interest is equally strong.
Originally the Decatur Staleys, the team moved to Chicago in 1921 and became the Chicago Bears in 1922. The Bears were one of the most dominant teams in the early years of the league, winning eight league titles before the AFL-NFL merger, including seven between 1921 and 1946. These rosters were filled with Hall of Fame talent, boasting names like Red Grange and Sid Luckman.
Despite their early success in the league, later decades were not as kind to the franchise. Even with all-time greats like Dick Butkus and Gale Sayers, the Bears struggled during most of the late-60, early-70s and early-80s. The team would claim their only Super Bowl title in 1985 thanks to a suffocating defense and head coach, Mike Ditka.
The team has enjoyed moderate success since then, including a Super Bowl loss in 2006, but they have been plagued by inconsistency. The Bears made a big move at quarterback in 2009 when they traded for Jay Cutler. They later paired him with his former teammate, Brandon Marshall. Those two, combined with Matt Forte and Alshon Jeffery, give the Bears an offense that might be more dangerous than the defense, and plenty of choices for modern card collectors.
