Although card collectors think of Mars Attacks as largely a piece of hobby history, mass audiences are more likely to recognize the name from the 1996 film. 2013 Topps Mars Attacks Invasion will now include autographs from actors who were in the film.

Pam Grier, O-Lan Jones, Brian Haley and Willie Garson are among the confirmed signers for the set. More are expected to be  added before the set releases in October.

The Mars Attacks movie autographs will use images from the film. To do so, Topps has partnered with Warner Brothers.

While the Mars Attacks movie did have a set of trading cards, it had no autographs. 1996 Mars Attacks Widevision is a fairly simple set that's highlighted more by its over-sized tall boy dimension. Destruct-O-Rama holofoil cards are the only inserts.

The film's lead cast includes Jack Nicholson, Natalie Portman, Glenn Close, Sarah Jessica Parker and Pierce Brosnan.
