5 Affordable Entertainment Autographs Primed for Significant Jumps

Hollywood loves its franchises -- especially when they involve super heroes and spaceships. Between all the comic-themed movies coming out over the next few years as well as the return of a little something called Star Wars, there are lots of actors who are locking up long-term roles.

Some of them are known both in Hollywood and the hobby, but maybe not very high profile.

A couple are near the elusive A-list already but maybe they have a card that's in a less popular set or one where they're overshadowed or undervalued.

No matter the circumstances, there are a handful of autographed trading cards that could see some movement over the next couple of years.

Jamie Bell

Where can you find it?

On the Horizon: Fantasic Four reboot

It's tough to imagine the small actor who rose to fame in Billy Elliott is poised to become Ben Grimm, aka The Thing, in the upcoming reboot of The Fantastic Four. But then again, a lot of the early details about the movie don't fall under the category of logical. That said, it's still a high-profile movie centered on a marquee Marvel team and Bell is slated to be one of the biggest stars.

He had an autograph in Topps' somewhat overlooked King Kong set, which came in with high hopes due to its connection to Lord of the Rings director, Peter Jackson. Bell is the toughest autograph to pull in the set. He's also one of the few names on the checklist that has had a prolonged career. Despite this, the card can still be found for under $25 if you're patient.

Gwendoline Christie

Where can you find it?

On the Horizon: Star Wars Episode VII

Having a somewhat central role in Game of Thrones is fairly high profile to begin with. But when you couple that with Star Wars, all of a sudden you're star power is even bigger. We know that Gwendoline Christie will be in Star Wars Episode VII. What hasn't been announced is what role or how big a role she will have. Some have rumored she could emerge as one of the big bads, which would be huge.

Christie has autographs in both of Rittenhouse's Game of Thrones Season 2 and Season 3 sets. They are readily available in the $15-30 range.

Natalie Dormer

Where can you find it?

On the Horizon: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2

Natalie Dormer is still waiting for a breakout role, but it looks like it's coming. Most got a first glimpse of her as Anne Boleyn in The Tudors. It was a popular show, but nothing like Game of Thrones where she played Joffrey's queen in waiting. Dormer has also appeared in some major films, such as Captain America: The First Avenger and Rush. However, it's The Hunger Games: Mockingjay that could result in a spot as a Hollywood leading lady. She's set to play Cressida in the two-part finale.

Dormer already has a trio of autograph cards. Her 2013 Rittenhouse Game of Thrones Season 2 card leads the way, pushing almost $40. However, both her Season 3 GOT and Tudors autographs can be found for about half that.

Lee Pace

Where can you find it?

On the Horizon: Guardians of the Galaxy, more Hobbit

Lee Pace's first big tastes of Hollywood came with major roles in a pair of short-lived shows that were critically acclaimed cult favorites, Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies. Now he's got a decent role in the Hobbit trilogy. However, his biggest role could come in Guardians of the Galaxy where he's playing Ronan the Destroyer.

Pace was one of the signers in Cryptozoic's new Hobbit release. Prices are still leveling off, but with some looking, they can be found for under $30.

Paul Rudd

Where can you find it?

On the Horizon: Ant-Man

Chances are you're familiar with Paul Rudd. He's one of the funniest people in movies today. And his star power is about to get even bigger in the near future. Sure, Ant-Man isn't likely to be the next Iron Man, but it is one of the biggest Marvel movies on the horizon. Don't be surprised if it leads to roles in sequels and an Avengers movie or two. Needless to say, if Rudd isn't on the A-list already, he will be very soon.

Despite that fact, his Parks and Recreation autograph from Press Pass can be bought often for less than $20. Besides the basic version, there are numbered parallels and inscriptions. All signs point to this card being a huge bargain with very little risk attached to it.
