2023-24 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey maintains the flagship reconfiguration first seen in Series 1. The smaller Hobby boxes deliver 12 cards per pack and 12 packs per box.

Collectors can still count on the same amount of Young Guns rookie cards per box and more inserts per box.

As usual, the 2023-24 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey checklist contains 250 base cards and 50 Young Guns. This lineup continues the card numbering from Series 1.

The expanded flagship parallels are featured here, as well, including Deluxe (#/250) and Outburst Red (#/25).

2023-24 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey Inserts

Inserts are the other big element in 2023-24 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey, with several new sets to complete.

Among the debuts, Deep Roots (1:4 packs) showcases "foundational players," Director of Boards (1:8 packs) is for the most physical players, and PC's (1:4 packs) aims to highlight the best player from each team.

Other new inserts include Ecliptic (1:6 packs), displaying top players mid-shot, Glaring (1:67 packs), zeroing in on the eyes, and Instinctive (1:4 packs), which shows goalies in action.

That leaves Monster Season (1:15 packs), celebrating Connor McDavid's '22-23 Hart Memorial Trophy year with game-by-game coverage across 82 cards. The Gold parallel, numbered to 153, honors the total number of points he scored.

Returning inserts fill in the remainder of 2023-24 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey. This includes Dazzlers and the all-rookie Honor Roll (1:3 packs).

Those seeking out vivid colors have a pair of Series 2 exclusives via Fluorescence, featuring top rookies, and Highlighters, covering stars with a notable '22-23 season highlight.

Promising that "no two portraits are the same," UD Portraits (1:7 packs) is sure to catch your attention with the final 30 cards in the set.

Population Count is also back with seven different tiers, limited to 1,000 or less. Just like in Series 1, these are printed on acetate stock.

Finally, the Day With The Cup short prints remain elusive at 1:2,000 packs.
