2020 Topps National Baseball Card Day Hobby Set Details

At this point, most collectors know the procedure. Visiting your local Hobby store on August 8 gets you a free pack of exclusive 2020 Topps National Baseball Card Day cards. As with earlier sets, limited NBCD autograph inserts are expected, but that has not been confirmed for 2020.

If you spend $10+ on Topps products in the same visit, you earn an exclusive Pete Alonso card that is not found in the main set. If you want to complete the entire Hobby set, come back the next weekend (August 15), spend another $10 or more on Topps products, and this time you get an exclusive Yordan Alvarez rookie card.

2020 Topps National Baseball Card Day Retail Set Details

Just like 2019, 2020 Topps National Baseball Card Day collectors are not limited to their LCS. Major retail stores are in on the NBCD action, as well. At Target, the 2020 Chrome Hanger Box has a free pack and an offer for Topps Fire. Likewise, Walmart features the 2020 Chrome Hanger Box with a free pack, but the offer is for Topps Gallery.

Prior years also had an NBCD component with ballpark giveaways. However, this remains an unknown element given the state of the MLB season.

Check back for the full checklist and any additional set details as revealed.

You can also visit the main Topps National Baseball Card Day website for updates on the promotion.

  1. The fact that Gallery seems to be the Wal-Mart companion to Target’s Fire (for those who don’t collect retail, usually Gallery’s a Christmastime release and Wal-Mart sells Bowman Platinum in the late summer at the same time Target sells Fire) makes me wonder if Platinum is coming out this season.
