2019 Topps Archives Baseball Variations Guide
The retro-inspired MLB card brand already has a lot going on but the 2019 Topps Archives Baseball variations add one more element to the nostalgic set.
There are a total of 10 image variations spread across the 2019 Topps Archives Baseball checklist. Collectors can find a few names from each base subset design, including a rookie photo variation for Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on the 1958 design and an image swap for Babe Ruth on the 1993 design.
Falling 1:207 packs for Hobby, these are fairly difficult to uncover. Put another way, that works out to about one SSP variation in every nine boxes.
2019 Topps Archives Baseball Variation Codes
The image makes it easy to notice the difference, but there are 2019 Topps Archives Baseball variation codes to note, as well.
Refer to the CMP Code on the back of the card that is listed in small text near the player's stats. Although each design has a different base code, the variation codes are all the same.
- 1958 - ends in #053
- 1975 - ends in #058
- 1993 - ends in #064
- 1958 - ends in #070
- 1975 - ends in #070
- 1993 - ends in #070
2019 Topps Archives Baseball Subset Parallels
Another aspect of 2019 Topps Archives Baseball is the base subset parallel that applies to all 100 cards falling under the same design.
These combine to average 1:207 packs, which is the same Hobby pack odds as the image variations.
1975 Topps Signature Omission (#101-200)
Basically a planned error, the Signature Omission cards remove the facsimile autograph from the front of the card.
1993 Topps Gold Parallels (#201-300)
For the 1993 cards, collectors can hunt for the Topps Gold editions that add gold foil to the card.
At this point, we have not seen anything for the 1958 subset and nothing was listed on the pack odds.

i have a degrom 2019 archives (card #199) that appears to be a variation in that the signature is missing on the front but the code looks to end in 058 and not 070. ???????
That’s the 1975 Signature Omission Parallel noted in the guide above.
but i thought those had codes that ended in 070?
Nope. Image variations are the only thing that ends in #70. What you have is technically a subset parallel.
got it. thanks.
I have a #133 Senzel that’s numbered to /175… any idea what subset it belongs to? Thanks!
It’s the Purple base parallel. All parallel info is covered on the main checklist page. https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2019-topps-archives-baseball-cards
I have a peter alonso rookie 330 code ends in 73
That’s the base high-number card for Alonso. They all have that same code.
what about the mini cards ones for blake snell says 75m-78
It’s just a regular mini insert from the main Archives checklist – https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2019-topps-archives-baseball-cards
These variation guides only cover the cards that have the base numbering and design but differ in some way from the common base card. Everything else is just parallels or inserts.
Haven’t collected in over twenty-five years. Love the Topps Archives concept.
I did get one card that doesn’t appear on the site. This came in a 2019 Topps Archive Blaster Box-“Rediscover Topps” in silver 1999 Charles Nagy 389. Charles Nagy’s name in gold foil. Any ideas on this?
It’s a stamped buyback, which means they took the original 1999 card, added a foil stamp and reissued it in packs.
without a doubt the “WORST F*****G” Hobby Box I have ever purchased. I have been a fan of the Archives for some time, never again will I waste my hard earned money on such a “S***” product. 2019 Archives should be (and the pun is very much intended, stricken from the archives; so as not to unnecessarily unleash the wrath of a normal man, turned mass-murderer, from the disgustingly underwhelming garbage found in this box of Archival TRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the variations guide for Archives. You can review the product and submit a rating on the main Archives page. https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2019-topps-archives-baseball-cards
