2018 Bowman Chrome Mega Box Variations Guide
The 2018 Bowman Chrome Mega Box variations offer 10 extra options for some of the key prospects in the base set. Although the set already features exclusive Refractor versions for the main Bowman cards, these short-printed image variations are even more limited and most add a signed version, as well.
While the 2018 Bowman Mega Box Chrome variations may not seem that rare at 1:69 packs, they are actually very elusive considering that each box only has two of the Target-only Mega Box Chrome packs. This means the SSP variations fall around 1:35 boxes.
Topps included the full 10-card lineup on the 2018 Bowman Mega Box Chrome Baseball checklist, so the only question is which photo is the rare version for each featured player. The gallery below clears that all up with a side-by-side comparison. Brendan McKay actually has two variations (BCP61/BCP68), but only #68 has a base edition.
Collectors can also find a one-of-one Platinum parallel at 1:14,669 packs, plus signed versions for eight of the 10 cards at 1:853 packs. Only Eloy Jimenez and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. are excluded from the signed set.
2018 Bowman Mega Box Variation Codes
In addition to the front image differences, collectors can refer to the CMP codes on the back. These numbers aren't intended to be used for this purpose, but they do provide another way to identify the 2018 Mega Box variations. All you need to do is check the final digits on the small CODE#CMP number at the bottom.
