2014 Topps Museum Collection Canvas Collection marks the third consecutive year where fine art and baseball have combined for a distinct and attractive insert.
Rather than a photograph, the cards take a page from Diamond Kings and Topps Gallery, delivering artistic renditions of baseball's biggest stars. The cards are printed on a canvas-style stock, further adding to the art motif.
Inserted one per 2014 Topps Museum Collection Baseball box, the set has 50 cards. This is the biggest checklist yet for the insert. It debuted in 2012 with 48 cards. Last year, it was down to 35. And while there are 50 cards in the set, there are three players who have two cards: Yogi Berra, Lou Brock and Johnny Bench.
Besides the basic inserts, original art versions are randomly inserted. These are not reprints but rather one-of-one pieces of art. The checklist for these art cards go beyond the 50 players in the main set.

His collecting origins began with winter bike rides to the corner store, tossing a couple of quarters onto the counter and peddling home with a couple packs of O-Pee-Chee hockey in his pocket. Today, he continues to build sets, go after inserts with cool technologies, chase Montreal Expos and finish off his John Jaha master collection.
