2014 Topps Chrome Football Variation Short Prints Guide
Veterans
If the 2014 Topps Chrome Football variations look familiar, that's because they are. Like most elements in the product, it offers a chromium take on the flagship Topps set. This includes the short print variations.
2014 Topps Chrome Football doesn't have as many variations as 2014 Topps Football, but there are still lots of them. A total of 30 veterans and 25 rookies have a second version of their card, all with a different photo.
Variations aren't easy to pull. Veterans are inserted 1:269 hobby packs while rookies fall 1:323 hobby packs.
Unlike base cards, variations don't have a bunch of Refractor parallels. Some have autographed variations and that's it.
How to Spot 2014 Topps Chrome Football Variations Using the Back of the Card
If you flip over your cards and look at the back, you'll see a bunch of fine print. At the end of this blurb is a code. It's an easy tip-off as to whether you have a variation or not. Here are the code endings for both base and variations (veterans and rookies are different for each):
- Base Veteran - 956
- Variation Veteran - 989
- Base Rookie - 972
- Variation Rookie - 988
