2013 Topps Mars Attacks Invasion Medallion Cards Guide

Chances are, if you've collected Topps sports products over the past few years that you've encountered the manufactured relic. What started as patches and little jerseys has evolved into coins, pins and more. And now they're starting to make their way into the entertainment realm. Some of the coolest -- and priciest, if you get the right one -- cards in 2013 Topps Mars Attacks Invasion are the Medallion inserts.

Landing 1:108 packs, they're not easy to find. The set has a total of 16 cards, each featuring classic Mars Attacks art on the front. Most of the medallion mimic the art, although some come with the Mars Attacks logo or an image closely associated with the action on the card.

Although Topps hasn't confirmed short prints for the set, some definitely appear to be tougher to find than others. And realized prices are reflecting that. Based on eBay listings from the first few weeks, numbers 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11 and 14 all appear to be short prints as there have been far fewer listed. Completed eBay sales for 2013 Topps Mars Attacks Invasion Medallion card short prints have reached as high as $299.99. Depending on the card, most short prints are more in the $75-150 range.

More common 2013 Topps Mars Attacks Invasion Medallion cards are generally going for $10-25.
