If your name is Bryce Harper or Yu Darvish, you're well represented on the list of top early online 2012 Bowman Platinum Baseball sales. The two super rookies represent 11 of the top 15 eBay sales for the set since it was released. Leading all 2012 Bowman Platinum Baseball sales was the set's crown jewel: a Bryce Harper bat plate. It didn't take long for the one-of-one memorabilia card to surface. And while the card did reach a lofty $2,999, all the bids were received on July 26th, the first day it was listed.
Another one-of-one took the second spot. A Purely Platinum Yu Darvish autograph closed at $2,600. Made of actual metal, the card has a nice on-card signature.
From there, Bryce Harper autographed patch cards take over. An Atomic Refractor numbered to 5 sold for nearly $1,100. It was followed by a Printing Plate that finish a cup of coffee short of four figures. Gold Refractors were also popular with four closing between $630 and $760. Finally, a Harper Jumbo Patch numbered two 5 sold for $582.
Although they have smaller patch windows than Harper's, Yu Darvish's Autographed Atomic Refractors showed well. Numbered to 5, two of the cards traded hands at $645 and $610.
The only single-player card on the list of top 15 2012 Bowman Platinum Baseball sales not to feature Harper or Darvish was a Prospect Autograph Atomic Refractor Bubba Starling. The redemption, which is limited to five, closed at $550.
