Undervalued Set: 1994 Signature Rookies Gold Standard Hall of Fame Autographs
My underrated set of the month is 1994 Signature Rookies Gold Standard Hall of Fame Autographs. Comprised solely of Hall of Famers, this multi-sport release was ahead of its time.
Cards from the 1990s had enormous print runs. This set was a little different. Seeded one per box, these cards hand-numbered out of 2,500, making them limited, especially by 1994's standards.
Although, a multi-sport release, it leans heavily towards football and basketball. The 24-card checklist includes such legends as Nate Archibald, Mike Bossy, Dave DeBusschere, Walt Frazier, Ray Nitschke, Willie Stargell and Bill Walton. A complete checklist can be found below.
The good news for collectors is that most of these sell for less than $10 on eBay. DeBusschere and Nitschke are the only two cards consistently selling for more than $20.
It's also worth noting that I've seen a couple of variations where Archibald and Frazier have signed some cards on the front and others on the back.
Before spending your next $50 on a high-end pack that will likely net a common signature or plain jersey swatch, you might consider getting several of these Gold Standard Hall of Fame Autographs instead.

If you’re considering buying a box of this product to get the HOF auto, be warned that you may get a redemption card that has long expired instead. I watched someone rip a box of this on youtube, and he got an expired redemption card for a Randy White auto for his trouble & cash.
