Despite having not played a professional game since 2003, Michael Jordan cards remain a driving force in the hobby. New cards, old cards, high-end and low-end—anything with MJ's face and name draws attention. However, there are few surprises when it comes to the hottest Michael Jordan cards. Rookies, autographs and memorabilia cards are always among the most popular options on the market.
Even still, the Michael Jordan card phenomenon goes beyond ink and jerseys. Rare inserts and parallels can also command thousands of dollars and his high-grade rookies set and break records. For many, it's hard to fathom why these cards can go so high. But Jordan's reach goes far beyond the standard market. It's global.
Below is a real-time ranking of the 50 most-watched Michael Jordan cards currently listed on eBay. The primary factor that influences an auction's popularity is the number of watchers it has, though there are some additional proprietary metrics that factor into the rankings as well.

His collecting origins began with winter bike rides to the corner store, tossing a couple of quarters onto the counter and peddling home with a couple packs of O-Pee-Chee hockey in his pocket. Today, he continues to build sets, go after inserts with cool technologies, chase Montreal Expos and finish off his John Jaha master collection.
Why are jordans auto’s so much diffent in price from one to another and jersry cards so differnt in price? I mean one go’s for acouple hunderd and some go for thousands? And whats up with retro card some of these sucker are 10 of thousands. Mark
Because Michael Jordan was good. But I still don’t know why. Reggie Wayne was a good shooter and ball handler, but his cards are all about the same price. So I think most of micheals cards should be about the same price. It’s not fair that they cost so much. I mean like the lowest price for one of his cards is $200. That’s to much stinkin money.
If you really want to get a Jordan auto then buy a box of sp authentic, or some other UD basketball product! Exquisite gives a good chance and you can usually offset a large chunk of the cost by selling the other cards. The cost of Jordan’s autos and cards are so expensive because he quite literally is the Babe Ruth of basketball. A lot of good players played in Ruth’s time, but not many are known at all today.
