Overview
The Washington Capitals are a proud franchise with a deeply loyal fan base. The emergence of Alexander Ovechkin as a legitimate superstar has garnered a renewed interest from collectors. In addition to Ovechkin, the team has plenty of other young stars and veterans worthy of collecting.
Since joining the league in 1974, the team has won eight division titles but just one Eastern Conference championship. They played in the 1988 Stanley Cup but lost to the Detroit Red Wings.
