Golden State Warriors Collecting and Fan Guide 1
One of the rising NBA teams, the Golden State Warriors feature a lineup with stacked with talent. With the current team led by Steph Curry and a rich history, collecting interest in the Warriors should continue to build.

Originally founded as the Philadelphia Warriors, the team won the inaugural BAA title in 1946. They added an NBA title in 1956. Although the Warriors relocated to San Francisco in 1962, one of the most memorable moments in NBA history occurred in the season before the move. Playing against the New York Knicks, the Warriors' Wilt Chamberlain totaled 100 points in a single game. The record still stands and is widely considered unbreakable.

After 16 seasons in Philadelphia, the Warriors moved to the West Coast. Renamed the San Francisco Warriors, the team would remain for nine seasons before crossing the bay to Oakland in 1971. The team changed names once again, this time deciding on the Golden State Warriors.

Dominant stretches in the 1960s and 1970s were finally rewarded with an NBA title in 1975. But as the 1980s approached, the Warriors lost their magic and were largely irrelevant for the next decade. Things shifted back up at the end of the 1980s and beginning of the 1990s, but another sizable losing stretch followed. Starting in 1994-95, the Warriors missed the playoffs 17 times in the next 18 seasons.

Finally in 2012-13, the talent influx began to materialize with team success. Klay Thompson and Steph Curry, nicknamed the "Splash Brothers," sparked the team to newfound popularity and hobby interest and more talent was added around them. Now the Golden State Warriors are considered on of the top up-and-coming squads in the league and are expected to soon compete for titles, much to the excitement of fans and collectors.
