Overview
The recent postseason successes of the Anaheim Ducks organization has translated into a hardcore following of fans. The star talent found in the history of the Ducks has also provided the hobby with some excellent options for developing player collections.
Founded as an expansion team in 1993, the Anaheim Ducks compete in a highly competitive market where entertainment choices are at a premium. Their success helped establish that the NHL could thrive in non-traditional hockey climates.
A large part of their success can be attributed to Teemu Selanne. Selanne spent 15 years playing for the Ducks over two different periods. This included his first stint from 1995 to 2001 and again in 2005 through 2014. He became the face of the franchise and his talented scoring acumen helped to develop the fan base into what it is today. Selanne ended his career with 684 NHL goals and 1,457 points.
Today the organization is going through a youth movement that has them annually vying for a Stanley Cup. A core group of emerging stars including Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry and Hampus Lindholm, has the team's fans hopeful that in the near future they can win the franchise's second Stanley Cup to go along with their first title in 2006-07.
