Sandy Koufax Cards – Vintage Baseball Card Timeline

Sandy Koufax is one of the most beloved pitchers in baseball history. While his career was short, the Dodger legend's legacy is still felt in the hobby today. Sandy Koufax cards remain extremely popular. Autographs in particular have helped drive sales of contemporary sets. Yet even with all their pizzazz and high-end features, there's nothing quite like the originals. And collecting vintage Sandy Koufax cards is relatively straightforward.

Shop for Sandy Koufax cards on eBay.

Between 1955 and 1967, Topps released 29 different cards of the pitching great in their flagship sets alone. This includes several league leader and special cards that paired Koufax with other standouts of the era. Fleer came along with a contemporary set in 1963 as well. Collectors can also hunt for dozens of insert, test issue and oddball cards.

Collecting vintage Sandy Koufax cards can get pricey, especially for those who opt for high-grade cards graded by PSA, BVG, SGC and other reputable grading companies. However, bargains can be found for those not as concerned about condition. Subset and league leader cards also remain extremely affordable.

In my opinion he was the most exciting and dominant southpaw of all-time during his prime. Second all-time in no hitters, when I watch youtube footage of him on the mound he appears mythical to me.
