Overview

The future looks strong for Yoenis Cespedes cards and memorabilia. The Cuban slugger made an immediate impact upon starting for the Oakland Athletics, hitting three home runs in his first five games. Althgouh he showed flashes of greatness with the A's, Cespedes was traded to the the Boston Red Sox midway through the 2014 season.

Playing for Cuba at the 2009 World Baseball Classic, collectors already had a handful of Yoenis Cespedes cards to chase before he even signed his first major league contract.

Cespedes' knack for the long ball should make him popular with collectors, particularly if he continues to hit towering shots. Cespedes gained a taste of national attention by winning the 2013 Home Run Derby, facing off in the finals against another 2012 rookie, Bryce Harper. He also won the 2014 Home Run Derby.

He uses two different signature styles depending on the number of items to be signed, space and time limitations. Look for the following signature features:

  1. Comprised primarily of 5 characters. The distinct letter "y" with its angular tail sits inside a a large over-sized letter "C" that can resemble an "O."
  2. The pen lifts and his jersey number "52" is written with the numerals "5" and "2."
  3. The final letter is a distinguishable "P."

Yoenis Cespedes Signature Attributes #2

  1. Written on angle of about 30 degrees, this signature also contains the letter "y" inset in the letter "C."
  2. The pen lifts several times in spelling out "e-s-p-d-e-s."
  3. Not all the letters are legible.
  4. The letter "p" is represented by vertical line on a 60 degree or greater angle, followed by an un-connecting character that looks like a letter "c."
