Mark Ingram Cards and Memorabilia Guide

Mark Ingram

Date of Birth: 12/21/1989

Rookie Card Year: 2011

Investment Rating: 6.5

Mark Ingram was already a household name before he was  drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the 2011 NFL Draft. The bruising running back from the University of Alabama racked up a National Championship and Heisman Trophy on his way to being a first round selection. Joining an already loaded Saints team, Mark Ingram cards were immediately targeted by collectors. Although he battled injuries throughout his rookie season, Ingram saw considerable work as the primary runner for the Saints and will continue to get solid carries for the next several years.

Mark Ingram cards should deliver consistent returns for collectors but expectations need to be reasonable. As a member of a pass-happy team, running is not the team's first thought. Ingram does not have the same makeup as other lead backs in the NFL, like Adrian Peterson. Another thing that will hold Mark Ingram cards back is the Saints' tendency to rotate their running backs and Darren Sproles already has the receiving back position locked up. With so many offensive weapons, Ingram will never be the main option but should fill his role admirably. Because he may not get the opportunity to be an elite performer, the best chance for Mark Ingram cards to increase in value would be based on postseason contributions.

The supply of authentic autographs for Ingram has not yet met the demand, and the vast majority of autographs can be found in card form.

Mark Ingram already has over 20 true rookie cards and that number will increase as new products continue to be released.
