Overview
With an up-and-down career, Marc-Andre Fleury cards and autographed memorabilia have seen similar fluctuations.
In desperate need of goaltending, the Pittsburgh Penguins selected Fleury with the first overall pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. While he would eventually win a Stanley Cup Championship with the team in 2009, he has often struggled. The Penguins, however, have not wavered in their commitment to him.
As the number one overall draft pick, Fleury has an exceptional number of rookie cards, 41 in total. They range from low-cost base cards to near four-figure high-end cards with low serial numbering, autographs and multi-color patches.
In addition to his rookie cards, Fleury has three team-issued cards from his days with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the QMJHL.
He also has several cards from his rookie season that do not officially qualify for rookie card status as they are inserts or come from minor league sets. These include several cards from Be A Player.
Being groomed at a young age for the NHL has its rewards. In-demand autographs is one of them. Winning a Stanley Cup and representing Canada in international competitions have also increased demand for his signature.
Top Marc-Andre Fleury Rookie Cards
2003-04 Upper Deck Premier Collection Marc-Andre Fleury RC #117 Autographed Patch #/99
This card has all the key elements high-end collectors look for in a rookie card: low serial numbering, sizable photo, multi-color patch and on-card signature. This is the Marc-Andre Fleury rookie card that consistently sells for the most money.
2003-04 Upper Deck Marc-Andre Fleury RC #234
Upper Deck Young Guns rookie cards have a tremendous brand affinity. Collectors hold the card in very high regard and professionally graded samples returning top grades carry a significant premium. This might not be the most valuable Fleury rookie, but it is one of the most heavily traded and iconic.
2003-04 SPx Marc-Andre Fluery RC #222 Autographed Jersey #/500
The SPx card also has similar design elements but lacks an on-card signature. It also has a relatively high serial numbering in comparison to Fleury's Premiere RC.
2003-04 SP Authentic Marc Andre Fleury RC #153 Autograph #/900
Many collectors simply want a clean design, large photograph and on-card signature. This is the card they often gravitate towards. Like Upper Deck Young Guns, SP Authentic also has very strong brand recognition, both with player collectors and set builders.

Just a heads up but on the MAF page describing his autograph attributes, you guys state that he doesn’t write the letter K in his first name….well, of course not, he has no K in his name! Just found that maybe you guys would like to correct the statement… here is the passage:
