Overview

Drafted fifth overall in the 1995 NBA Draft, directly out of high school, Kevin Garnett's legacy is based on consistency and winning. It's hard to believe that the highly-touted teen evolved into one of the game's all-time greats. That being said, there are still plenty of opportunities for collectors to snag some excellent Kevin Garnett rookie cards at reasonable prices given that he debuted at the tail end of a different era in the hobby.

Kevin Garnett rookie cards were released in 1995-96 products. This was just before serial numbers and autographs became more prevalent. As a result, most of the initial Kevin Garnett cards remain extremely affordable. And while none are going to go into the stratosphere as far as prices go, even modest dollar gains could mean solid returns for collectors.

By far, the 1995-96 Topps Finest Kevin Garnett rookie card paces the pack. From there, the drop is steep with most of his rookies available for low prices. In total, there are 15 different Kevin Garnett rookie cards, none of which are overly difficult to find. Some of the most popular first-year Kevin Garnett cards include his Finest Refractor and Topps Draft Redemption cards. His arrival in the league came during a transition time in the hobby. As a result, Garnett has no autograph or autograph memorabilia rookie cards.

Despite his longevity in the league, there is very little Kevin Garnett autographed memorabilia on the open market. He had a long-standing deal with Upper Deck Authenticated. This means there's stuff out there but most of it commands a premium. Because of Garnett's deal with Upper Deck, they should be especially cautious if items are not accompanied by UDA certificates. The easiest way to get Kevin Garnett autographs is likely via pack-inserted basketball cards.
