Overview
Ivan Rodriguez cards and autographed memorabilia are well respected by collectors. He is considered to be one of the game's all-time greats at the catcher position. During his 21-year career, Rodriguez was a 14-time All-Star and 13-time Gold Glove winner. He retired in 2011 with the highest percentage of runners caught stealing.
Rodriguez has seven rookie cards. Released in 1991, all of them are very affordable due to the high volume at which they were produced. He also has several minor league cards which player collectors often pursue. Two of his most popular ones are his 1989 and 1990 Star cards.
His first certified autograph cards were issued in 1996 Leaf Signature Series as part of the Extended Autograph set. It has a print run of 1,250 copies. A Century Marks parallel has a print run of 100. Neither of the cards are serial numbered.
Upper Deck produced Ivan Rodriguez's first game-used memorabilia cards in 1999. Â He has a Game Winning Materials insert card in 1999 SPx as well as a Game Jersey card in 1999 Upper Deck Baseball.
Ivan Rodriguez's autographed memorabilia is highly collectible. The prices for his signed items are on par with those of other catchers who have been inducted in to the Hall of Fame. Rodriguez should eventually take his rightful place among those players. When he does a spike in value for his signed memorabilia will occur.

Ivan Rodriguez Key Signature Attributes: An authentic Ivan Rodriguez signature autograph will exhibit several distinguishing characteristics. Regardless of the type of item or when it was signed, look for the following signature features:
- Rodriguez has a hard-to-decipher signature in terms of letter-by-letter analysis.
- It is written on an even horizontal plane.
- The discernible letters are: "I", "R", "d" and "g"
- The "I" looks like a "J" with a large, backwards "D" shaped loop at the top and a vertical line on a 45-degree angle, dropping below the plane.
- The "R" is distinguished by the "2" shape next to what could be mistaken as a large comma.
- The "d" is unique in that instead of the straight vertical line attached to the circle portion, it has a large "C" shape that rises well above the signature.
- The elongated loop that drops below the horizontal plane is the "g".
