While the Dodgers have spared no expense in putting together a roster of big names, it's the fresh faces that are really making a stir in Los Angeles. One of them is South Korean pitcher Hyun-jin Ryu, who is putting together a strong rookie campaign. As a result, Hyun-jin Ryu rookie cards are drawing a fair bit of attention from both the Dodgers' faithful and the international market.

Hyun-jin Ryu was a key part in South Korea's gold medal at the 2008 Olympics. He pitched a complete game shutout against Canada early in the tournament. In the gold medal game versus Cuba, he lasted 8 1/3 innings and gave up just a pair of runs. The Dodgers secured Hyun-jin Ryu's rights following the 2012 season. They signed him to a six-year deal a couple of weeks before Christmas.

While Hyun-jin Ryu rookies come from 2013 baseball card products, they're not his first. Having participated in the World Baseball Classic, Topps squeezed a couple of memorabilia cards into 2009 products. He has a basic relic card in 2009 Bowman Sterling (along with several Refractor parallels) as well as a jumbo swatch card in 2009 Topps Unique that is numbered to 40.
