Panini Launches Super Bowl XLVII Black Box Promotion
Panini has announced a new Super Bowl XLVII Black Box promotion. Each black box comes with one serial-numbered autograph card. They come in three different themes.
Private Signings are all numbered to 25 or less. The checklist focuses on players with some Super Bowl history. Among the signers are Joe Montana, Emmitt Smith, Brett Favre, Jerry Rice and Terry Bradshaw.
2012 rookies, including Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III and Russell Wilson, have autographed memorabilia cards -- again, numbered to 25 or less.
Finally, quarterbacks Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning each have a one-of-one exclusive to Panini Super Bowl XLVII Black Boxes. Their cards are autographed and also come with a diamond embedded in the card.
To get one of these special black boxes, collectors have to buy a box from Panini's online store, iCollectPanini.com. Qualifying boxes must be football and they have to cost $60 or more.
Panini Black Boxes have a history for similar promotions and giveaways, often in conjunction with a special event. 2010-11 Panini Limited Black Box Basketball brought the brand to a full-on release for the first time.
