Panini Extends Deals with NFL and NFLPA
Panini has announced new long-term deals with the NFL and NFL PLAYERS. Under the terms of the deal, the card maker can make up to 18 products per year.
Conditions of the deals start right away. Panini's first football product of the year, 2012 Panini Prestige Football, is slated for a June release. The set will include fully licensed cards of presumed top picks Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III and Trent Richardson.
"Panini football product continues to be highly pursued by hobby enthusiasts and novice collectors alike," said NFL PLAYERS INC. President, Keith Gordon in a press release. "We, along with our players, look forward to Panini's ongoing product development, hobby enrichment programs and support of our marquee events including the NFLPA Rookie Debut and Rookie Premiere."
Leo Kane, NFL Senior Vice President of Consumer Products, echoed a similar sentiment in the same release, "We are pleased to continue working with Panini America to offer our fans more ways to connect with the NFL and the players they love."
Last month, Topps announced a similar agreement with the NFLPA.
