Will Middlebrooks and Trevor Bauer Autographed Rookie Cards on the Way
When the baseball season began, many expected Yu Darvish and Yoenis Cespedes to lead the 2012 rookie crop. Then Bryce Harper got an early-season call. That's turned out pretty good too. But this trio aren't the only rookies making an impact. 2012 is looking like a tremendous year for first-year players. And collectors should have plenty of options for updated autographs from many of them. Today, Topps confirmed upcoming autographs for both Will Middlebrooks and Trevor Bauer.
After Kevin Youkilis was traded to the White Sox earlier this week, Middlebrooks was crowned the undisputed third baseman in Boston. Currently batting higher than .300 with nine home runs, Middlebrooks has been announced as the third 2012 Bowman Baseball Lucky Redemption, joining Darvish and Harper. The redemption card is limited to 100 copies and is good for an autographed card. Topps also confirmed that the fifth round pick in the 2007 draft will have additional autographs this season in 2012 Topps Finest Baseball, 2012 Bowman Chrome Baseball, 2012 Topps Update Series, 2012 Bowman Sterling and 2012 Topps Five Star Baseball.
Bauer, who was just called up by the Diamondbacks, has also been confirmed for several late-season sets. These include 2012 Topps Finest Baseball, 2012 Topps Chrome Baseball, 2012 Topps Triple Threads Baseball, 2012 Bowman Chrome Baseball, 2012 Topps Update Series, 2012 Topps Five Star Baseball and 2012 Bowman Sterling.
Although he had several rookie cards in 2011 products, Anthony Rizzo is also making hobby waves after dominating minor league pitchers. This gave the Cubs no choice but to call up the slugger, who they got in a trade with the Padres during the off-season. Besides the recently released 2012 Topps Tier One Baseball, collectors will find new Rizzo autographs in 2012 Topps Triple Threads Baseball, 2012 Topps Update Series and 2012 Topps Five Star Baseball.
