Is Leaf Bringing Back the Peck & Snyder and Maxx Lines?
Leaf Trading has been busy. Not only has it filed suit against the expected number one draft pick in the NFL, it has also filed two trademarks applications which give a view into potential future products.
The first filing is for "Peck & Snyder" for "trading cards." The filing is detailed below:
Peck & Snyder is generally considered to be the first company to have mass-produced baseball cards in the 1860s. They also sold sporting goods. Likely this is a throwback type product line that'll compete with products such as Topps Allen & Ginter and Upper Deck Goodwin Champions.
Leaf's second filing is for "MAXX," which, again, will be used with "trading cards":
Similar to Peck & Snyder, Maxx also appears to be a product based on an older card company. Maxx produced racing cards in the 80s and 90s - not the 1890s, but the 1990s. If Leaf stays true to form, the Maxx product looks to be Leaf's first foray in the racing cards.
Keep in mind, simply because companies file trademark applications does not mean products will necessarily follow (sometimes they fall apart later during production, etc.). But, at least with these filings we can catch a glimpse of how Leaf intends to grow in the future.
