Game, Set, Match: Leaf Trading Cards Acquires Ace Authentic 1Although there have been several sets of tennis cards in the last decade, they've been part of a niche market. Leaf looks to be bringing it out of the fringes and give the sport a little more mainstream appeal with their latest acquisition. They have purchased the trading card portion of Ace Authentic, who had been the lone tennis card maker for several years

"Tennis is globally one of the top sports in popularity with fans and collectors in nearly 100 countries," said Leaf owner and CEO, Brian Gray in a press release. "I am confident Leaf is the right company to take this category to the next level while keeping print runs very limited and collectible."

With the deal, Leaf not only becomes the exclusive producer of licensed tennis cards, but they can also use stars like Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer in their multi-sport releases as well.

Leaf expects to have their first tennis product out in February or March.
