Funko Pop Speed Racer Figures
Funko Pop Speed Racer pays tribute to the animated classic with a vinyl line. The set includes the Speed Racer (Gō Mifune) and Racer X.
Speed Racer comes in his standard attire of white pants and a blue shirt. The look is completed with a red bandana, yellow gloves and his racing helmet. There is also a chase variant that highlights the disturbing nightmare experienced by Trixie, Speed Racer's girlfriend. Providing the power behind Speed Racer is Mach 5, his advanced car, which comes as part of the Pop! Rides brand.
In addition, the mysterious Racer X wears a white jumpsuit with a red "M" and a black helmet with a white "X" in front.
Notable options left out of the initial run include Spritle Racer, Pops Racer, Mom Racer, Trixie and Sparky.
While Funko Pop Speed Racer focuses on the animation side, the Speed Racer franchise has already seen multiple forms. The 1960s manga series became an anime show in 1967. More recently, the 2008 live-action film starred Emile Hirsch as the famed racer.
