Showcasing a modern take on Shakespeare's famous tragedy, Funko Pop Romeo and Juliet highlights 1996's Romeo + Juliet from director Baz Luhrmann.Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo and Claire Danes as Juliet, the film retells the classic story with added gun battles and some '90s flair. However, the main figures for Romeo and Juliet offer a more era-appropriate look. Romeo wears chainmail with an extended hand and Juliet is dressed in an all-white dress with added wings.
The Target two-pack combines the duo for convenience, but the figures appear to be identical.
Funko Pop Romeo and Juliet collectors can also find a limited chase variant for Romeo which is randomly issued in place of his base #708 figure. Averaging 1:6 boxes, the disheveled Romeo sports a shiner and holds a gun. However, the most obvious difference is the pastel shirt.
