While the name might confuse collectors in the United States, Funko Pop Football, a.k.a. Funko Pop Soccer, is all about the stars of the global sport. Getting going with Premier League standouts, the Funko Pop Football Soccer line applies the classic vinyl likeness to top subjects from some of the biggest clubs in the world.
The debut batch includes key representatives from Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United. The same basic sculpt is used for each player, but the figures do carry looks specific to the stars in question. Although the majority stand with their hands on their hips, and one boot on the ball, goalkeeper de Gea is holding the ball.
Hairstyles in particular help set apart the vinyls for David Luiz and Sadio Mané. And the Zlatan Ibrahimović figure displays his thin mustache/goatee combo and pulled-back hair. Pogba even has his trademark blonde stripe.
The Funko Pop Football Soccer series for 2019 and 2020 includes new options for Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United from the Premier League, plus world-class choices from Ligue 1's PSG.
Although officially part of the Funko Pop Sports Legends line, the US Women's National Team offers multiple stars to collect.
