Funko Pop Cast Away revisits the 2000 film with figures for Tom Hanks as Chuck Noland. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, Cast Away revolves around a FedEx employee who is stranded on a deserted island.The small Funko Pop Cast Away set includes a figure for Chuck that shows him well into his stay on the island. With a thick beard and minimal clothing, Chuck holds a speared fish in one hand and his best friend, the volleyball Wilson, in the other.
Showcasing Chuck earlier on in the film, the Target-exclusive figure wields a spear with an impaled green crab. Chuck wears shorts and uses a red shirt to protect his head and face from the blistering sun.
Given that Hanks (as Chuck) is really the only notable character in the film, there probably isn't much room for growth other than a few more Chuck variants, maybe a Movie Moments, and possibly a standalone figure for Wilson. I suppose they could issue a figure for Chuck's girlfriend before he was stranded (Helen Hunt as Kelly Frears). Only time will tell.
Tom Hanks is no stranger to the Pop! vinyl world, appearing in separate releases for Big, Forrest Gump and Toy Story, (as the voice of Woody).
