There may be no crying in baseball, but there are vinyl figures to collect thanks to Funko Pop A League of Their Own. The Pop! Movies line highlights a few stars from the 1992 film.The popular movie is based on the actual All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) that operated during the 1940s and 1950s while the United States was fighting in World War II.
Funko Pop A League of Their Own includes Jimmy Dugan, the somewhat-surly manager of the team, played by Tom Hanks. His figure fits the part as he dressed in his full Rockford Peaches uniform with crossed arms and a five o'clock shadow. Jimmy is joined by Dorothy "Dottie" Hinson (Geena Davis), the team's assistant manager and catcher. Wearing her pink uniform and catcher attire with the mask up, several bruises are visible on Dottie's face.
There is no word about additional figures in the lineup, but Funko Pop A League of Their Own has plenty of room to grow. Key choices consist of Dottie's younger sister and the team's starting pitcher, Kit Keller (Lori Petty), as well as "All the Way" Mae Mordabito (Madonna) in center field, Evelyn Gardner (Bitty Schram) in right field, Betty "Spaghetti" Horn (Tracy Reiner) in left field, Helen Haley (Anne Ramsay) at first, Marla Hooch (Megan Cavanagh) at second, Ellen Sue Gotlander (Freddie Simpson) at shortstop, and Doris Murphy (Rosies O'Donnell) at third base.
