Complete 2012 MLB Bobblehead Giveaway Schedule and Guide
One of the most popular promotions every season, there are plenty of MLB bobblehead giveaways scheduled for 2012. Actually, there are 94 to be exact (60 NL, 34 AL).
The first MLB bobblehead giveaway of 2012 sees the Washington Nationals handing out Stephen Strasburg figures on April 14. The Angels follow three days later with Albert Pujols. Bobblehead season wraps up on September 23 with the Tampa Bay Rays and a figure that's yet to be determined.
The busiest team, as far as bobbleheads go, is the Dodgers. Not only do they have 11 giveaways, but a couple of them have multiple players. The most crowded figure includes Steve Garvey, Davey Lopes, Bill Rissell and Ron Cey.
As with earlier seasons, the 2012 MLB bobblehead giveaways mix current players and local legends. Besides the previously mentioned Strasburg and Pujols bobblehead figures, others collectors may want to keep on their radar include Tom Seaver (New York Mets, April 22), Nolan Ryan (Houston, May 19), Sandy Koufax (Los Angeles Dodgers, August 7), Mike Piazza (New York Mets, August 25), Matt Moore (Tampa Bay, July 22) and Eric Hosmer (Kansas City, August 18).
Not all the MLB bobblehead giveaways feature players. The beer vendor will be celebrated by the Chicago White Sox on August 4. The next day, the Rays are honoring their new mascot, DJ Kitty. Perhaps the strangest of all is Milwaukee's Italian Racing Sausage, which will be handed out July 1.
Below is a chronological calendar of all the 2012 MLB bobblehead giveaways. Print runs and conditions are in parentheses. If any others are announced or we missed any, please let us know by commenting below and we'll add it to the list.
