Clint Dempsey Named 2013 Topps MLS Extra Time Autograph Redemption 3
Fresh off signing with the Seattle Sounders, Clint Dempsey has been confirmed as the third 2013 Topps MLS Extra Time autograph redemption.
Dempsey, a member of the U.S. Men's National Team, had been playing overseas in the Premier League since 2007. This isn't Dempsey's first run with the MLS. He was drafted by the New England Revolution in 2004 and spent three seasons with the team. Dempsey then signed with Fulham of the Premier League where he spent six seasons. Prior to the 2012-13 season, he joined Tottenham Hotspur who, in turn, transferred his rights to Seattle.
Collectors who pull the Extra Time #3 redemption from 2013 Topps MLS will receive a signed Clint Dempsey card done in the style of the set's MLS Maestros autographs. The first two Extra Time redemptions are Thierry Henry and Tim Cahill.
Clint Dempsey is no stranger to the hobby. Besides appearing in several European soccer sets, he been in 2012 and 2013 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions including memorabilia cards.
