2022 Topps Home Run Challenge Baseball Cards Checklist and Game Details
Product Details
2022 Topps Home Run Challenge Baseball is an interactive card game found in the flagship baseball set that has built up quite a following over the years.
While the core elements are likely familiar, there are some added wrinkles to the gameplay.
On top of that, 2022 Topps Derby Duel Baseball is a new option.
2022 Topps Home Run Challenge Baseball Set Details
Appearing in Series 1 and Series 2 packs, 2022 Topps Home Run Challenge Baseball remains more or less the same as the last few years.
The HRC cards fall, on average, 1:24 Hobby packs, 1:10 Hobby Jumbo packs and 1:10 for all Retail pack formats.
After collectors acquire a specific card in packs, the scratch-off code must be entered on the Topps site to participate. From there, users can pick the exact game where they believe/hope the depicted player will go yard. Winners will receive an exclusive card.
Debuting in 2022, fans can elect to "Double Down," meaning the player must hit a home run AND the home run must travel 425+ feet. This all-or-nothing add-on yields a special parallel. However, if you pick the "Double Down" box and the home run travels less than 425 feet, no prize is awarded. With "Double Down" selected, an inside-the-park home run will also be unsuccessful.
Another new element for the 2022 Topps Home Run Challenge promo is the "decision window" that allows collectors to only select the player for the current or following month, or bench them in order to hold the player for a future month.
Topps revealed these tentative dates for the program.
While the lineup offers many top sluggers across the league, Buster Posey made the cut for the initial set despite his retirement following the 2021 season. His card is not eligible for Series 1, but Javier Baez replaces him in Series 2.
Whether or not you are a winner, every prediction earns an entry for the grand prize, which is a trip to the 2023 MLB Home Run Derby.
