2022 Topps Heritage Baseball variations give MLB fans a fresh batch of cardboard to collect, with many rarities available.

The retro-inspired set honors the 1973 Topps Baseball design.

2022 Topps Heritage Baseball Variations Details

Thankfully, Topps provided the full variation lineup on the 2022 Heritage MLB checklist so collectors know what to expect.

Going in order of Hobby pack odds rarity, the variation selection includes Image (1:64 packs), Team & Name Color Swap (1:382 packs), Player Icon Color Swap (1:3,961 packs), Nickname (1:4,753 packs), Error (1:9,506 packs), and Throwback Uniform (1:22,487 packs).

One small change is with the Hobby-only Action Image that Topps noted as just "Image" variations on the card and on the final checklist. Regardless, it appears to be business as usual for these as the most common of the bunch.

2022 Topps Heritage Baseball French Text

There are also French Text cards, but these are quite obvious given the non-English writing in multiple places on the back of the card. The French cards are numbered to 73 copies, which is another clear giveaway.

2022 Topps Heritage Baseball Variations Codes / Tips

One huge upgrade for Heritage came in the last few years with specific notations for the variations.

As a result, the standard SP/SSP codes should not be needed since the variation type is literally printed on the back of the card by the number.

This is just as well since the codes are especially hard to read on the Heritage stock.

As always, these are the various CMP codes associated with base cards. Once again, the image variations in this guide are noted specifically with the text by the card number so the codes are not needed to identify variations.
