2022 Donruss Baseball Variations Gallery and Checklist
The 2022 Donruss Baseball variations offer a plentiful source of nicknames and photo swaps.
While modern variations tend to have a reputation for extra rarity and/or value, these cards generally have neither. But they can still be a fun chase.
2022 Donruss Baseball Variations Details
Shrinking the selection compared to 2021, the 2022 Donruss Baseball Variations lineup features 20 players from the 2022 Donruss Baseball checklist.
The choices include nicknames as well as standard image changes. Although the name differences are obvious, the photographs can make it more confusing as to which is the variation, especially with a full run of variation parallels.
One trick to spot the base variations (#82-229) is that the card number on the back switches sides. So, with the variations, the card number is on the right while the base cards show the card number on the left.
2022 Donruss Baseball Variations Cheat
For the 1988 Retro variation cards (#233-276), it appears the blue fill color on the back is slightly darker. Since this is not nearly as helpful as the design change, the variations were confirmed via the Career Stat/Season Stat parallels, which have different print runs.
In addition, there are a few more parallels in play this time around, bringing the overall total to 21 different editions per subject when counting the base variation.

To Whom it may Concern,
Variations are easy to spot on the back. Numbers are on the right top side instead of the left top side.
I have the Ohtani reg and variation. The variation has him pitching.
