Product Details
2020-21 Upper Deck Extended Series Hockey takes the flagship brand into a third product for the year.
Per UD, "Obviously with this season being so unique, it was important to do an extended series with some additional Young Guns players and unique rookie content."
The main lineup follows the 2020-21 Upper Deck Series 1 and Series 2 Hockey sets. The ePack format arrives about one month later.
2020-21 Upper Deck Series Extended 2 Hockey Base / Young Guns
Bringing the overall total to 700+ cards, 2020-21 Upper Deck Extended Series Hockey offers the final part of the record-setting set. This includes a total of 125+ Young Guns for 2020-21, with the last batch expected to arrive via Extended Series.
For those wondering, the rookie card cutoff date is February 12. Any players debuting after this will not be in contention for this product.
Of course, the base set and Young Guns (1:4) subset cards each provide French (Base - 1:30; YG - 1:120), Exclusives (#/100) and High Gloss (#/10) parallels.
Look for Hobby-only Clear Cut editions for the base (1:64) and rookie cards (1:192), along with Clear Cut Exclusives, which are also only issued in Hobby formats.
2020-21 Upper Deck Extended Series 2 Hockey Inserts / Autographs
Among the inserts, Dazzlers again picks up the card numbering—from #101-150—across several color versions.
From there, 2020-21 Upper Deck Extended Series Hockey digs into the past to fill out the rest of the set.
The 2005-06 Upper Deck Tribute (1:24) insert naturally honors the prior design, adding Exclusives (#/100) and High Gloss (#/10) parallels.
Many of these options feature veterans and rookies, including Ovation and SPx Finite, which are both printed on 40-point stock.
In addition to the base inserts, Ultimate Victory (1:20) highlights Connor McDavid's "Top Moments" in McDavid MMXXI (1:80).
More throwback cards arrive in HoloGrFx and UD3.
Falling two per box is Rookie Class SE, which adds a facsimile signature.
Possible autographs for 2020-21 Upper Deck Extended Series Hockey include the Rookie Class SE Spectrum Auto (1:432) parallel.

Will this product be outrageously expensive and have Young Guns damaged right out of the pack?
Happy to get more Young Guns, but this product looks like a sloppy hodgepodge of pointless inserts. Do we really need 50 more Dazzlers? Who do they even have to include to bring the total to 150? Is Lars Eller a “Dazzler” now?
I know I’m griping. And I don’t know what the solution is. UD needs an insert in every pack and they sure aren’t going to decrease their print runs. Especially in a year with a highly touted rookie. How many points does Lafreniere have now?? And things have gotten even more diluted with ePack. So here we are.
I’ll probably save myself the hassle and just buy the base set/ygs on the secondary market. (Likely for way more than the cards are worth, but it will still be cheaper than buying a case and tossing the junk.)
Lets just water down the Young Guns !! Horrible idea !!
